L/O sausage = sliced and put in an omelette; sandwich; rolled up in a tortilla flatbread with salad; rolled up in a pancake.
Chop into pieces, add to a basic tomato pasta sauce and pour over hot pasta. Chop into slices and add to a hm pizza as part of the topping.
Chop into dice, add to your l/o mash, and fry as a sausage potato cake (add extra's such as onion, herbs).
Or.... chop into very small pieces and mix with a mashed boiled egg and some mayo - (maybe slice some leftover bacon into tiny bits too and add that?) a little pepper if you fancy it and voila! An "all day breakfast" sandwich filler..0 -
Our favourite leftover at home at the moment? Takeway Curry sauce.
There is always some left from the saucy ones ( the kids favourite are generally quite sweet). We use them as a base for a fab stir-fry sauce a couple of days later.
Anyway, I wonder if we should have a challenge following squeaky's remark that you can "curry anything". Any takers?I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
Hey All
I always used to throw my leftovers out-unless I could feed to the dog  That was 6 months ago and I am now fully reformed!
Most of the time I dont call them leftovers but next days dinner! Left over chicken will become-chicken curry, stew, fried with crumbs/batter, salad/pasta, crmble, pie etc, or if unused I will put back into freezer and use another day. My daughter loves boiled rice, peas and chicken in her packed lunch so always freeze small amounts for her-she has this 1-2 times a week.
Invested in some click it pots from Matalan the other week and they can be used for freezer, microwave, dishwasher etc. Great value.
