Umm, I don't get the pie charts...

I have two categories at the moment as this is all new to me - food and non food. But when I go to the pie charts it is a circle with a line down the middle and the total spend for the month (cor blimey). How can I separate the two amounts???

I have just started doing a spending diary since starting my new job. I figured it would be a good way to keep track of my earnings/outgoings. At present as I'm living at home my outgoings aren't too much (though I do pay my phone bill, internet, towards the TV licence, sky subscription, gas and electric and buy my own food). I just use a small notebook during the week to put down my expenses then transfer it to a spreadsheet at the end of the week.

I also have a separate thing for one of my hobbies, I make jewellery and cards and decided that this year I would only buy things if I could afford it from my 5p and 10p silver pot, so the money in there is counted and on a spreadsheet and then I put down what I spend and that way I always know if I can afford something. It also helps me keep track of what I've bought so I don't fall into buying duplicates.
