Electricity Supplier Rewards for Customers

I too would rather see lower prices than gimmicky rewards - I'm sorry to admit to a feeling of 'not fair' when those who can afford expensive equipment (e.g. solar panels, heat pumps, batteries, EVs) are rewarded with favourable tariffs denied to the poorer customer.
That said, rewards for the first quarter of this year (earned by minimizing weekday peak-time consumption) have paid almost 30% of my fuel bills (rewards: £29.63, total charges: £105.57). There's a lot of 'luck of the draw' in there, so this sadly isn't a reproducible outcome.
I'm not being lazy ...

Mmm. Try other coffee outlets that do not charge £5 for the coffee 😜

Why? If they like that coffee, and they obviously do, should the saving be diminished by yourself?
It truly is a free coffee from said establishment(s) every week.
Just because you can get say a coffee from something with golden arches for £1.39 should that be the benchmark of savings even if they cannot recreate the drink this person has as their weekly treat for free?

I occasionally use the Octopus coffee codes (if I'm awake early enough; they're usually gone by 6am) but I'm usually a Greggs customer, not Caffe Nero. This isn't due to taste or reverse snobbery, just that I can get to Greggs far more easily!

I'm glad that coffee shops sell their product for > £5.
Makes me feel slightly less guilty about the £££ I spent on a bean-to-cup machine.
