absolute scam: vouchersent £25 gift card (Santander)
Was meant to get my £25 gift card for switching to Santander by 10th march. Nothing. I email vouchersent on 15th march and 25th march. Nothing.
April 14th they email back asking for information I'd already provided in my initial emails to them.
April 22nd they come back saying: "we could only accept queries up until the 7th April.
As the enquiry period has now passed, we are no longer able to investigate or respond to any new claims. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause."
Absolute joke considering it was their ineptitude that took me past their deadline. Absolute scammers.
Spoke to Santander via chat about this and they say I have to take it up with MSE as it was an affiliate link from here, how would I go about doing that?

I've had similar with regular companies who promised a gift and it never came.
Santander were the ones who insisted against my protestations they could move my ISA to another provider but I lost my allowance in the process.
They then took ages to move the final savings to another provider with endless annoying texts. I hope never again
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

It's not a scam but as discussed on the main thread on the offer many people are having issues getting the vouchers to track properly. Keep pestering them, and also consider opening a complaint with Santander as they are responsible for the promotions they run, even if they are ultimately fulfilled by a third party

right well Santander have just ended the chat saying it's a third party offer and they don't have the T&C's of that offer.

Ask them for a 'deadlock' letter, tell them you are going to complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Then complain to FoS. If they refuse to give you a deadlock letter then you can complain to FoS anyway.

It's not clear that OP has actually complained to Santander yet if it was just 'chat', so it would be worth ensuring that a complaint has actually been logged, in order to open up escalation options if needed…

thanks, I'll use this terminology

Yes I was trying to speak to someone who simply ended the chat so now I've asked to speak to their complaints team and am waiting on a response

Asking for a deadlock letter would hopefully clarify that point… as well as giving Santander the opportunity to rethink their initial response.

It isn't a third party offer, it's a Santander offer that's being run by a third party. The reaction from Santander to complaints regarding the VoucherSent offers seems to be very inconsistent, ranging from not wanting to get involved as it's someone else's offer, to very quickly crediting the complainant with the amount of the gift card.

Don't waste your time taking it up with MSE. Follow Section62's excellent advice and request a letter of deadlock from Santander.

Yes, ultimately the net result should be the same, but chances are that asking a frontline customer services agent for a deadlock letter would be met with something along the lines of 'there isn't a complaint to respond to yet', so I was just pre-empting that in case of any confusion caused by trying to put the cart before the horse!
