Switching

My mobile network is currently Lebara. I have seen better deals with Lebara but I am unsure if I can 'switch' to a new deal and keep my phone number. Am I right in saying that I would have to switch and port my current phone number to another provider, to then enable me to switch back to Lebara, again porting my number? I am aware that I would have to use a different email address in order to open a new account with Lebara in the event that I 'switch' to a new deal.

Thanks

I have just done that. I ported from Lebara to Spusu (£3.90/month rolling), my reserve number is due to be ported back to Lebara today. I have opted for a M.S.E. deal with Lebara.

Edit to add that the ported in number is now in my account.

Fortunately my main number is with Lebara and it's possible to add the new s.i.m. to my account.

I think I did have to use a different e-mail to set up a new Lebara account, some years ago, when I had only one number with them.

I wonder if they close your account when you port out and only have the one number? It might be worth checking if your account is till active after the port out. Possibly then you can add the new Lebara number to the account.

I can't remember whether they closed my account back then.

Not sure the above is necessary. I had a 30GB for £15 SIM-only deal. I saw they were now doing the same deal for £10. I selected as an upgrade and was switched to the new deal without all the faff of porting out and changing account details.
