Upcoming change to editing older posts
Hi all,
Just a quick heads-up that we’ll soon be activating the “Reinterpret as Rich” setting for older posts.
Currently, when you edit one of your older posts, it opens in the editor that was originally used to create it…
After this change, older posts will open in our newer editor when edited.
By default, nothing will change when viewing existing posts. The only thing to be aware of is that, if you edit one of your older posts, there’s a small chance you may need to make a few minor formatting tweaks before saving. We hope this will be minimal.
This is particularly relevant for Ambassadors and anyone maintaining Announcements / sticky posts, guides, or other regularly updated reference threads.
The upside is that this helps bring older content into line with the newer Rich Editor, giving members access to more flexible formatting tools such as better text styling, tables, toggle blocks, buttons, and other richer editing options.
You can read more about those tools here: Rich Editor Help Guide

I have a couple of threads I maintain that will probably be affected by this (2018 & 2021).
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Let us know in advance when this will be implemented so I can reformat the posts if necessary.

HI @One-Eye
I have this pencilled in for next Monday,
But note that, according to our provider, this will not change posts in any way when we toggle the setting on. It's only at the point you try to edit an old post that it's converted to the new version - So it's not that you would have to worry about a post being malformed when you're not looking!

Thanks @MSE_Stephen - I will only edit them when I have time if they need reformatting.
