Switching to sky full fibre

Trying to switch to sky full fibre from bt bb and digital voice. I cannot complete the switch as the system won’t recognise my number and flags no landline service at this address. Has it happened to anybody before

They're correct. Digital Voice doesn't use the landline, it is a VoIP service (your calls are done over broadband now), there's been a big switch to this for many years now with the move expected to finish by Jan 2027. You should be able to confirm this by checking that your phone is plugged directly into your router, instead of into the wall socket.

It is possible to transfer your existing VoIP number, but you should be clear in your switch that you don't not have/need a landline as that is likely causing the issue.

I recently switched from BT FTTC to BT FTTP. Wanted to end Digital Voice service at the same time.

Was told that it would 'expedite' the transfer process if I left the phone service in place and then cancelled it immediately after FTTP was running, which I did.

No idea why the same might not apply to a BT → Sky move? Is it Sky who can't identify the landline?

Unless you want to keep the phone number the phone number is irrelevant, if you do want to keep it , it has nothing to do with the switch process , it’s just a note for the new provider that you want them to port the number from the old provider , its your address and name that is used to match your old provider with the new provider , not the telephone number .

How are you attempting to do this migration to Sky ? , on-line on Sky website , or you have called Sky and spoken to them (and you were advised it wasn’t working ) or even through some third party comparison site ?
