The ad blocker may well reason.

A few years ago I found that several of the UK national newspapers would detect whatever ad blocker I was playing with at the time and refuse to load unless it was disabled. I didn't experiment in any detail with other browsers or blockers as I wasn't that bothered.

I expect most workarounds get blocked by major platforms given time. It is after all their product which they can offer on their terms. You have no actual right to enter via the back door.

I use an Ad Blocker on YT and have not had any age verification issues. I also watch content that may require
age verification like the Royal Armouries, Forgotten Weapons, Kentucky Ballistics and more..

Maybe it's due to having an account for a long time? I have had the account for about 16 years.

I have a VPN subscription but I rarely activate it, only sometimes to check if I get the same webpage if viewing
    from another country.

Are you signed in when you use Youtube?

I've seen the verification thing but I've never signed in to watch Youtube videos.

Yes always signed in. A few years back I did have the insert credit card info to watch this channel which I didn't do
but not had anything like that for a few years.

The only thing I can think is that my YT account is now over 16 years old so they may had automatically put me
    in the over 18 category?

I'll not watch YouTube videos in future - too much hassle.

    Indeed.

I have SmartTube on the Nvidia Shield & occasionally this won't work. I imagine YT works out a way to stop it from loading content.

Then within no time at all the SmartTube folk have it up & running again.

AI engine approximates your age from your face. It's not very accurate - but it doesn't need to be.
