it's not a hive of activity here chez Blackcats but we are tidy and clean (and so is the house boom boom 🤦♀️)
DH hoovered this morning and everywhere I went to try and get ready he seemed to appear brandishing the hoover. I tidied the hall and reduced the coats on the pegs to zero and shoes in the shoe rack to 1 pair each. Looks much better now.
I think I'm going to clean the dining table, chairs and placemats now, dust our bedroom and then that will be it for today. I have a glass of wine on a Friday and I'm looking forward to that in a couple of hours.

At lunchtime today I gave DH a lift to the barber's - he looks much better for a haircut and shave. I had already managed to declutter my shaggy hair hair yesterday, just along the parade from the optometrist's (no.3 all over, very short and easy to manage 😍), so we celebrated our new looks with lunch out at a local GC where they do excellent battered fish and chips. DH is definitely feeling better: he demolished his whole plateful, though I was a lady and left a few chips on the side.
We had a short walk around parts of the GC, admiring the tables full of early spring bedding, but didn't buy anything as I think we might still get frosts in the next couple of weeks.
When we got home, Rosie gave me a good going over and was delighted to find that I had not forgotten to bring the tail ends of fish for her. She now wants her supper, though both DH and I are still quite full.

I'm glad your DH is feeling better Iona. Good to get out in the fresh air and fish and chips is the best medicine x

Morning. It's the weekend woohoo!
Yesterday I did paid stuff, had a very long walk with Poppet, two wash loads which dried on the line and got rid of old stuff in the shed.
Today I am going to do puzzles, make a cake, walk Poppet and do more tidying in the garden. I have new edging to put in with DHs help. This afternoon I'm meeting friends.
Have a great day everyone.

Evening all. Not enough washing for a load today unfortunately as it was glorious and warmer now the wind has dropped. I can make up for it tomorrow though. Cleaned the bathroom and toilet this morning but only dailies after that. I'm pretty much up together. I made a fruit cake this afternoon which has just cooled enough to wrap and put away. Smells lovely!
Hope everyone's Ok. Hopefully you're all out enjoying the weather x

Hi all
Work has been busy, but I took Thursday and Friday off with DH, although we did an 8 Mike walk on Friday and I found it hard going which maybe shows that I was in need of a bit of a rest.
I may have found a dress for DS1s wedding. I went to a couple of shops and felt flustered by the choice and by a well meaning shop assistant who wanted to help, so I came home and ordered 6 dresses online. I was very taken by a navy blue lace affair, maybe with some bold accessories to offset the dark colour. I need to think about hair/headwear and sorting my nails out, still 4 months to go but it will fly past.
Flying has taken a back seat but decluttering has steadily continued. I am struggling to sort out my extensive clothing collection but need to keep working on it. Quite simply I need to get to the point where my clothes fit into the space available without being crammed in or hung on the back of the spare room door!!
Have a good Sunday all, not sure what the plan is for today, DS1 said they might need help packing prior to their house move but that was all a bit vague.
Is Round OK? Haven't seen a post from her.

Morning all. It was very quiet on here yesterday. I hope that's because everyone was enjoying the sunshine.
We achieved everything we set out to do. Today will be washing, getting rid of stuff from the shed, puzzles, walking Poppet, continuing to tidy the garden and watching the football on telly.
Have a great day everyone.

ooh YL - found a dress! What colour accessories do you think you'll go with? Red, pale pink and cream all look good with navy - a hat is bolder than a fascinator imo…I'm imagining a cream hat with a navy ribbon round the crown - or a bow. (I don't wear red myself as i am ginger)
Lawn strimmed yesterday in the hope that the grass which has been cut will dry over the day and can be mowed this evening. DW and WM both run. Laundry basket is empty.

Morning all. Another lovely day so far and less cold first thing. We just got back from a walk - no coats!!
I dusted, polished and vacuumed all through downstairs this morning and got some tea stains off the kitchen floor. I'm very clumsy. One washload out on the line.
Apart from cooking a roast dinner (vegetables already prepped) not much else going on. Hope everyone's OK x

I still haven't been able to catch up with Fred, for which I apologise. (((Hugs))) to everyone who needs one. It's crazy busy here and I'm still frantically trying to both organise and get ready for short visits to London, Florence and Glasgow in May. I don't think my feet will be touching the ground at all.
Today I cleaned the shower in the shower room, managed to spill water from the bucket so I washed that floor, did three loads of washing which are pegged out and drying nicely, tidied up the mess I created yesterday potting up plug plants I've been bringing on for a few weeks but still have about 100 to go, which involves mixing up old potting compost, a load of old fertilizers I've had hanging around for a bit with things like bonemeal and finding out about coir compost and the mix is rather fabulous. I spent five hours on it yesterday and just didn't have the energy to go back to it today so that'll have to wait until Tuesday. Vacuumed the top floor, dusted the towel rail in the bathroom and I'm just about to jump in the shower and then clip my hooves and sharpen my talons before another week of frantic activity.
I was promising myself a quiet June because this month and next month are wall to wall stuff, but yesterday our favourite Italian paying guest, who stayed here for over six months and now works for the EU in Italy contacted me to ask for recommendations for language schools for her girls, 12 and 14, and accommodation. Her family put Hugh up for her wedding and both of us up for her sister's wedding a year later on a gorgeously unspoilt island called Pantelleria for a week back in around 2009 and 2010 and I did wonder at the time if she sprogged if this would happen - and it has. So, the offer's out there for them to come and stay in June as our guests if she wants to, and I rather think they will. So June will be hectic too.
I will try to catch up - FOMO - and hope to contribute again asap.
