That had me confused too!
A fund like HSBC Global Strategy will have a high exposure to the USA, so you could consider "balancing" with something less US-focused like L&G Multi Index. Although there's no knowing whether the US will return to leading on stock market growth.
On the point about anticipating it falling, then yes you should expect that to happen every few years. It will have dropped during the recent Iran hostilities and Trump's earlier tariff war with the rest of the world. Periods of negative performance are part and parcel of investing. Sometimes these drops last longer than they have recently, but if you are planning to invest for long enough, then you can ride them out.
