Paying credit cards off with a debit card
I've received recent notifications from my Barclaycard and M&S credit cards they'll no lokge accept payment by debit card.
Is there anything going on behind the scenes anyone knows about?

I've not received any such notification for my Barclaycard and I can still choose to pay by debit card via the app. I no longer have an M&S credit card but it does look like debit cards aren't a payment option on their "Ways to pay" page.
At a guess I'd say that it's possibly that other payment options are cheaper and options like "Pay by bank" transfer the money pretty much instantaneously unlike a debit card where the funds will take a few days to actually be credited to the retailer so they'll get their money faster.2 -
My account still possible to pay by debit card

None of that is relevant.
My app still shows I can pay by DC.1 -
Still can in the app, however, the app says the facility will no longer be possible from 22nd April. Likewise, I think Barclaycard's was sometime in May.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
If I access my Barclaycard via the Barclays app and want to make a payment, it offers the option to do so from one of my Barclays bank accounts, or by debit card.
I often pay my bill by HSBC debit card at the start of the month rather than waiting until the direct debit is taken in the middle of the month - I've had no notification that this is not possible or is being phased out.
Edit: The Barclaycard app also has the same payment options, and no notification that debit card payments are being discontinued.

Which app Barclays or Barclaycard ?
There was a suggestion that one of the apps would be removed
Under the make a payment option the only option in the Barclays app is payment by DC

I've a Barclaycard and use the Barclays app. I always pay by debit card and have used it in the past to reach minimum payment levels from some accounts.
I've had no communication to say the facility will be withdrawn. I usually pay around the 10th and this month's payment went through ok.

I assume one of the concerns is that using a DC to pay a CC may mean you are going into your overdraft to do so. Of course the same thing might happen paying by DD or transfer from your bank account.
