3 Royal mail parcels lost in a week

Never had a problem until recently but now 3 royal mail 2nd class large letter jiffy bags have gone missing, this is in the space of a week.

The tracking number shows them dispatched and then just in the system now for around 3 weeks.

I have put in a claim for the first one after the person who ordered it contacted me and RM have sent me an email admitting it is lost and i will get compensation but now i face having to go through that process 2 more times, anyone else having similar problems?

I had these issues a month or so ago and posted about it, at one point I had 3 claims open with RM for lost LLs. Like you mine showed as being in the system and then just disappearing , RM paid me out on all of them within a week admitting.the service had fallen below that which they expected to provide.

If you dropped these off at the same post office, maybe it is a particular issue there rather than Royal Mail's network. I seem to remember that @soolin posted about a similar issue a while ago. Several items went missing where RM were aware of a specific problem at a PO.

One of them was delivered today, it had been in the system for 16 days.

I wonder what happens to the parcels that never make it to their destination & aren't obviously in the back of someones pocket.

I don't imagine they'll be wedged behind bins in sorting offices, propping desks up or whatever, so I just wonder what happens to them when they never make it to their destination.

Some time ago (probably 20years now!) I had a letter-sized parcel from abroad arrive several months late because it had slipped down between a desk and the wall 😆

I just go to the RM page which I think is called something like ‘complaints and comments’, you can claim for a certain number of days, but for the first time ever this time they sent me books of useless stamps rather than a cheque.

this time that’s what I got, lots of them. 2 books of 1st class stamps worth a great deal more than the £6-£10 I’ve been claiming. I’ve been giving the stamps away but no one really wants them, most of my friends and family stopped posting things years ago.

I do wonder, although not inclined to do anything about it , whether there’s a legal case for insisting on monetary compensation, after all I didn’t lose stamps and I can’t use them to replace a lost item if I went to the shops to buy something.
