The tins are better value than the squeezy bottles but I've always found M&S to be surprisingly well priced.

Good Morning GC'rs
I've shopping to report. Today I went to Ald1, L1dl, Sainsbugs and 'omebargins.
I got some asparagus in the S6 - OK, which of you was it, stood next to me, that expressed surprise that the 4 spears in the packet were 25p each…… I know it must have been an MSE'r 👍😁 As it was, I went for the thinner stalks, however, I noticed in Sains, that their 100g packs (£1.75) seemed noticeably fuller - the asparagus was thin spears. So went I got home, I weighed my Ald1 packs….. 98g each…… Now, I know Ald1 will point to the big E that is next to the 100g, saying 'there or there abouts', but it's interesting…………. In total I spent £4.83 in Ald1, £16.72 in L1dl, £9.60 in Sains and £5.48 in 'omebargins.
I don't think I managed to get anything yellow-stickered today, although spurred on by Nelliegrace's shopping, I did look in Ald1 - the only 30% offers appeared to be on bread that I didn't need.
My total food shop came to £36.63 and non-food came to £3.84. I don't think I got anything particularly 'meal making' today. It was just the bread, marge, apples, cheese - that sort of thing. Didn't feel much for nearly £37.
I'm away to update my signature.

Gosh, with cane sugar the price it is and the cost of energy to simmer the syrup for 40-60 minutes, I think bought golden syrup might be the way to go @Nelliegrace Tate and Sainsbugs do cane sugar - most of the others are British Sugar from beets

I've spent a total of £49.46 across the supermarket, bakery and refill shop over the last couple of days. DH came to the supermarket with me and since he hasn't really got involved with the food shopping for a few years he was gobsmacked at the price of everything. He also got a salutary lesson in how the supermarkets appear to give you good offers and rewards but they're not always very useful. Point in case, we needed cucumber and Tesco had some deal with points or money off if you spend £2 on cucumbers. Cucumbers are 99p each so you'd need to buy 3 to benefit. He'd not really noticed that bit and didn't know like I did that cucumbers are 99p so was quite excited until he worked it out. It's a learning curve!
Anyway, I'm up to £110.11/£300 so doing ok this month.
