Drill won't change speed.
I have what is essentially a brand new Bosch drill which is stuck on speed one. The speed selector switch moves freely and feels normal however the speed doesn't change.
Can someone suggest what this issue may be and can I get spare parts for it?

What on that picture are you referring to as the speed selector? Do you mean the gear selector switch on the top?

That's the torque setting.
Sorry, forget to mention the speed is controlled by trigger pressure.

How about reading the instruction manual ??

I think it's a model that has a red slider on the top with 1 and 2. Assuming it's not moving quite all the way to two move it as far as it will go then start the drill a little and then let go, then click it the rest of the way to two.
If that doesn't help it may have a broken part.

I'm referring to the sliding selector switch on top. It slides in both directions and feels perfectly normal, just won't change gear.

If my tip above doesn't work and the 1-2 slider really is moving completely to the end then probably the selector fork is broken (plastic) or if you are really unlucky is a broken gearbox
Shake it does it rattle?

No rattle. I'll try opening it up and inspect for any obvious defects.

If it’s “essentially brand new” can you take it back to wherever you bought it from and ask them to look at it?

No, it was bought a couple of years ago on offer that was too good to ignore and as I already had Hitachi and DeWalt kit, I stored the Bosch away until I needed it, which is now.
