Hello

I currently have a Gatehouse isa that is due to mature on the 24th. I have already given instructions for it to roll over into another 1-year fix at my present rate 4.35%.

I was told via the maturity options online that l can change my mind up until 21s of this month.

My question is, as it's a new isa, wouldn't l still be able to transfer out to another provider as its still in the 14 days cooling off period (24th onwards) For a newly opened account?

Is there an EA ISA option on the maturity options? If so, why not change your maturity instruction to transfer to that then initiate the transfer out through your new provider if that is your intention.

They do have a holding isa account for people that haven't given instructions before maturity. But the rate as you can imagine is rubbish.

I'll send them a secure message and ask them about this. Thank you.

Most Cash ISA transfers happen pretty quickly these days so your funds shouldn't be in the rubbish rate account for long. Probably the most straightforward / least stressful route to go.

You could ask Gatehouse if the account number stays the same. If it does you could instruct the new provider in advance stipulating no transfer until maturity.
