EES and Missed Flights

No great inconvenience to put them in the washing machine every 3-4 days while you have breakfast and then hang them out to dry on the balcony. Alternately, find a service wash launderette where you can drop a bag off and pick them up the next day. Do that and you can travel indefinitely with a small bag.
Also makes transfers easier when you aren't lugging a huge suitcase (or two) with you.
If you went away for a month or longer would you really take enough clothes with you so that you didn't have to do any washing?

For some reason you seem to want to create an argument.
Personally I travel light, avoiding check in bags, even if included in the ticket price. You obviously like to do a bigger bag and check in.
Both are perfectly fine approaches to travel and luggage.

It's a big inconvenience if your accommodation doesn't have a washing machine…
And I've never seen a launderette in the small resort I go to.
Anyhow, as I pointed out up thread - the OP is on a package holiday with TUI and will have hold luggage included in the ticket price.
As travelling light was not a question the OP asked, I'll leave it there.

It's also not a solution to the problem anyway, as I have already explained.

It's maybe worth remembering that exiting certain airports for return flights can be just as stressful as entering the EU.
We have experienced it both ways at Malaga, which seems to be one of the main problem airports.
Hopefully the new systems will reduce this ?

It can be difficult to remember what the thread was about, given the extensive digression about packing habits, but the original topic was exactly the one you refer to, i.e. delays on the way out of the EU, rather than the registration issues on the way in…

Flew into Tenerife South this afternoon and got through passport control in 2 minutes.

I thought the delay highlighted on the thread about the missed flight arose because the system had been introduced after many people were already in the country.
These people had not had to register on entry so it had to be done on exit, rather than the quicker procedure for those already registered.

Greece has announced it will not enforce EES on UK citizens at all this summer, presumably concerned that potential travellers might book Türkiye instead of Greece, where the EES does not exist.

Thanks. That’s good news for us as we frequently fly BHX - ARN via AMS and experienced long waits last year. Approx what time of day were your flights?
