  • Hi loulou 41,

"Can you explain this to me. I have seen a Panasonic at Empire Direct £800 = £25 for delivery. John Lewis does it online for £999. How do I go about it, do I have to ring John Lewis first and see whether they will price match? Thanks"

Yes, phone John Lewis and speak with the price match team. Provide them with the details of the make/model number and price of the Panasonic at empire direct for example. They will contact you to confirm if they can do a deal at the price. Easy!

lexie55 - I bought mine in December 2006! Cracking deal for the tv and ps3 tho, hope you dont spend all your time on the ps3 and stop visiting mse. lol

    Good luck

John Lewis will not match price with Empire Direct. Bought one at my local Lakes shop for £950 including 5 yrs guarantee, £25 more expensive than with crampton online. Hubby is hopeless at setting things up. I bought the stand with them as well and paid £1069 and they will set the TV & assemble the TV Stand. You can get cheaper if you buy online and set it yourself. I guess, we are paying a bit more for the hassle. I do not think you can get the new version cheaper than £925. Delivery will take place on Wednesday, a bit concerned the 37 ins might be a bit too big. Viewing distance is only about 7ft. Hubby has been on and on about a new TV and the old sony we got is refusing to die. In the end, we bought it and we are giving the old sony to my son's friend who just bought a house.

Interested to know how he managed to get the price match. I saw this as well and was going to post the same. I have deleted the e-mails I receive from the local JL and JL online. May be you should ring and try since you have not bought yours yet, quite a bit saving, a bit gutted now.

Didnt realise you had gone for a LCD, the PX70 is a current model and is a plasma, alot better than a LCD, 1080p is usless in a 37" screen anyway ,seems money wasted IMO
