Any thoughts, advice, suggestions pse, Ive also got a chance of a Tempur 8", Density 95KG/m3 for 250.00
There have been a few poor reviews of Highland mattresses. Obviously I don't know if that applies to all their models.
A density of 95kg will give very good support. However the recovery rate will be very slow, so it could be very difficult to change position.
Try to keep the density between 60 and 70kg, and the depth of the memory foam to 2". Also if the mattress is a spring/memory foam combination it won't get as hot.
Who is selling Tempur mattresses at £250. I would be very suspicous of any Tempur at that price.0 -

Is it second hand, or a second?
£250 sounds to be less than cost price.0 -

From the spec I presume the first one is the Highland?
As I have mentioned before, 3" of memory foam is too deep. They are trying to use the fact that it has 3" as a marketing ploy. Don't fall for it, as you will just sink deeper into the memory foam which can make you too hot. The memory foam is only there to mould to your body, and 2" is enough to do this.
75kg memory foam will give good support, but due to it's slow recovery rate, it could make changing position difficult. Try to stick to between 60 and 70kg.
If the firmness is only 6 out of 10 then it appears that the reflex foam layer is quite low density. This can cause your spine to curve.
The second one seems a better design, but it doesn't say anything about the density of the memory foam. Do you have a link to it?0 -

Nope, Highland is 10" (3) or 8" ( 2)

I really don't know why they have to spoil what otherwise could be a good design mattress by using border foam around the springs. This stops air circulating in the spring layer to dissipate heat.bristolleedsfan wrote: »
I would ask the seller where this one is made. It seems too cheap for a good quality memory foam mattress (especially with 2 pillows thrown in). Also the fact that it comes vacuum packed is often a sign that it is a lower quality mattress.
Out of the three I'd go for the middle one.0 -

23mm (less than 1") of memory foam isn't worth having. You need 2" to a maximum of 2.5".0
