Car Finance Redress Scheme - Leased vehicles and personal use
Martin is clear that the scheme is not for car leases . He did suggest however (BBC Radio 5 Live on Thursday 9 October with Adrian Chiles ) that whilst a car lease , where the use was purely for business use, would not be covered , where the leased car was also for personal / domestic use of a car, it could be worth attempting a claim.
Anyone got any specific insight as to whether the redress scheme takes/ may take hybrid use (business and domestic ) into account ?

If there was, don't you think the ambulance chaser firms would be all over it?

Which is obvious as leasing cars does not fall under the Consumer Credit Act, and therefore, the rules applying to the Consumer Credit Act cannot apply to leases.

Either you misheard or he has gone bonkers. I suspect you misheard and he was not referring to leases but for motor finance where a business was named on the contract.

Leases are not covered. Full stop. The references to business apply to credit. Not leases.
Our scheme won't apply to you if:
- You leased a car with Personal Contract Hire (PCH)
- You’ve had your complaint considered by the Financial Ombudsman Service or determined by court.
- You've already accepted compensation.
- Your agreement was over £25,000 if it was entered into before 6 April 2008 or was for business purposes.
- You had a high value loan.

Ok, that is poor formatting in the transcript as the business comment is not referring ot leases.
The business bit applies to credit agreements.
