start a diy holiday by looking at www.skyscanner.com to find suitable-bargain flights
  • Not sure if you are after the sun, but I can recommend Duinrell in Holland. Really good for kids and quite reasonable. You could hire a 6 berth chalet. Im sure last year when we went it cost about £400 for a week for all of us (4) and then the ferry on top. Holland is really nice and this site is not far from the beach.

I'm not sure how long the euro will continue to be so poor against the £, but one option may be to holiday at home.

We had a lovely bank holiday weekend away in Suffolk in a self catering cottage. The accommodation is very reasonable for a family and you don't have the hassle of flying.

There are loads of options, but we went with Snape Cottages. Just Google 'holiday cottage suffolk' or 'snape cottages' to see the range of places you could stay.

If you don't fancy Suffolk we've also stayed in the Yorkshire & Derbyshire Dales, West Scotland and Dorset.
