Is there any reason to go with Highland Broadband over Plus Net? Scottish Highlands based.
I live in the Scottish Highlands and currently have a 4g router, using a Talkmobile Unlimited sim for £16/month. It's fine for watching TV, but not so good for trying to do multiple things at once (tv/download etc.). My needs are fairly modest.
I don't have a line into my property, but can get FTTC installed. Plus net will do it for free. I think if Highland Broadband were to do it, it would be for free under the R100 Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme.
I've used Plus Net in previous properties before and was quite happy with their service and support, but had wondered about getting my broadband installed by Highland Broadband, who seem to have good reviews on Trust Pilot, but very mediocre reviews on Facebook.
Plus Net can install the line next week, which is great, but I suspect Highland Broadband would take much longer. Is there any reason to choose Highland Broadband over Plus Net?

I always go with the quickest and cheapest provider with decent reviews. plus net seam to have been around a while and offer a decent package.

You mention FTTC, does that mean that your location is not (yet) cabled for FTTP?
I mention this because their blurb suggests that Highland Broadband only offer FTTP products via their own network.
What do the broadband checkers at (eg) and Highland Broadband say about availability at your address?
Do you have a copper landline? That would be the usual way of supplying FTTC broadband. Might be that any FTTC broadband might not give you the speeds that you get from your 4G router, although there may be less contention.

I've currently not got a line into the house, hence using a 4g mobile router. According to Highland Broadband, they can provide up to 150mb/s, where as with Plus Net, it would be 60-70mb/s.

I would expect 150 Mbit/sec to be "full fibre", 60-70 will be FTTC.

Highland Broadband appear to fit their own infrastructure which gives the possibility of faster speeds in the future as well, whereas FTTC won't go any faster than the speed given.
