Do I count as a "new" customer?

Hi all,

Just a quick question. I see with the MSE Broadband Checker that Vodafone are offering a £150 voucher for new customers. I'm thinking of taking up the Full Fibre 500 package.

Currently we have a housemate who brought his broadband with him, and it so happens to be the same Vodafone Full Fibre 500 package I'm thinking of signing up with again as the contract runs out in May 2026. With the £150 voucher included, it's the cheapest for us at this speed.

My aim is to have his WiFi contract end and then to sign up to Full Fibre 500 again, but this time in my name at the same address to get the voucher. Would I count as a "new customer" in this instance? It says on the MSE comparison that a new customer is someone who hasn't been with Vodafone in the last 12 months. Our housemate currently has my address down as the linked address for the contract and it's in his name.

Just wondering if we count as "new" customers under the T's and C's. If not, we'll look elsewhere as Vodafone will no longer be the best value.

I imagine you'll be considered a new customer by VF.

Should be OK but you'll probably need to do a full termination on one contract (with a return of hardware) before a new customer sign-up on a new one. Likely to be a gap in service.
