    ^^ 100% This, stated perfectly!

And also the water. For the same reasons that you have given in your post, but also for the fact that we have to pay through the nose for water…..the one thing that we absolutely cannot live without!!

We should not be forced to pay so much for it.

None stress me but like others water annoys me, especially as I go out on the water here on the south coast..

As for council tax, it is what it is and successive governments have heaped additional tasks on them over the years. What would people have cut from their remit? SEND students at school, adult social care, trading standards etc, etc.? As I've never had kids I don't directly benefit from education provision, but paying for good education is part of living in a decent society.

What I expect and generally get is safe streets and the bins collected regularly! You're right the bulk goes on adult social care, then children's services / education. We'll all benefit if in need, so its only right that we contribute.

I filled up my tank earlier at £1.497/L. I am going to try to stretch it out until after Whitsun!!

Did you not have an education? I don’t have kids but I certainly benefited from a free to me and my family education

As for paying for benefits, like insurance, I’m glad it’s there, but I would really rather not get my money’s worth from it!

  • Service charge is the one for me - It goes up quite a bit each year currently at £253 PM/ Council tax is £203!

Out of those listed the one that stresses my budget the most is council tax.

I voted water, I cannot physically read my meter, it only gets checked occasionally and even then the bills are based on some weird algorithm not actual use, so we end up either massively over or underpaying, not on what we actually use. I am waiting for an inside meter to be, hopefully fitted as I'm disabled. I will then move back to paying in arrears for what we actually use, once I've cleared the latest debt. Thames water are, quite literally, up !!!!!! creek and we end up subsidising the asset stripping likes of McQuarrie.....

Wow, It sounds like it. Our annual buildings and contents for our generously sized 4 Bed detached, including cover for quite a few named valuable items and bicycle cover for 4 more than decent bikes both in and out of the home is less than your increase, and by your use of "another £200" it sounds like this is not a one-off occurrence! 😮
