    Council tax. Not the bill per se, more the context. It's completely outwith our control, keeps going up and up, more and more services are cut/restricted/charged for separately, and they're still in more and more of a deficit every year. I don't really blame the council, but anything further risks getting political.

    Council Tax is now like a mini mortgage where the end is never in sight.

    And filling our oil tank as there’s no energy price cap for heating oil.

    I put none because there's no one bill standing out. It's just the accumulated amount that's the problem.

  • Energy bills are the biggest headache. Unlike a fixed mortgage or internet plan, they’re so unpredictable. You’re always one cold snap away from a massive spike that throws the whole budget off balance.

    Council tax. I'm a student but went part time for health reasons (doing a PhD), my uni only offer 50% part time but my council only give student exemption if you do >50% so my stipend went down 50% but I became liable for council tax - was very annoying
