… and that is the correct answer, it is too soon to lock in a fixed rate to continue on from when your current fix ends.

If you asked if there were any fixed rates you could transfer to now it would have been a different answer, but it would also not be a great idea to do that right now.

Around 6-7 weeks before your fix ends you will get an email inviting you to lock in the prices for the next fix…

    What about other suppliers ?

Whilst I would prefer to remain with Octopus - any fixed rate deals that are going to last for the next two years may be a good move ?

    What about other suppliers ?

Another forum user recently switched to a two year fix with BG. I don't know if that tariff is still available but you could check for a quote?

Edit: I've just checked and they're offering me the 24m April 2026 v1 longer fix. ~25p/kWh for electricity, 7.7p/kWh for gas. £75 per fuel early exit fee.

Personally I wouldn't choose BG as a supplier (and those rates don't appeal) but if you want/need certainty for two years, you might have an OK time with them.

Whilst I would prefer to remain with Octopus ...

It's worth remembering that all the Octopus fixed tariffs get shared in this thread as soon as anyone sees they're available.

For me in Southern region, at least, the current Octopus 12m April 2026 v2 fix looks slightly cheaper than the equivalent BG 12- and 24-month fixes. Octopus have a £50 early exit fee per fuel.

BG is banned from my house - they blew up my boiler from incompetence (really !) a few years ago ….
