MSE News: Nationwide completes takeover of Virgin Money

They have already stated a time frame of 4 to 6 years to fully intergrate Virgin into Nationwide with the Virgin brand vanishing.
Given the mess of the multiple brands, computer systems etc that Virgin operate from their takeover themselves of the likes of Northen Rock's savings arm I reckon it willl take all of that time to do it. I'd make a start on N.Rock accounts and move them first.
Left to me I'd be rather rigerous and start compulsory closing of accounts with "Low Values" in them which will radically reduce the number of accounts to be transfered over and likewise where parallel account types exist between Virgin and Nationwide to reduce duplication. But I suppose that will lead to the inevitiable moans in the press from the usual misunderstanding quarter about "forced closures".
