Real shame, goodbye to competitive interest rates!, thanks Virgin for all the savings accounts and Cash ISAs over the last 24 years.

Including those many Regular Savers which gave us double interest on maturity due to a glitch which the IT people couldn't sort, or didn't bother about.

Those marvels are distant history already, fixed ages ago by Virgin, long before the Nationwide involvement.

Hmm, as it happens I'm planning to transfer my cash isa from Virgin Money (well, Nationwide now) to HSBC - I wonder if I'm better off waiting a week or so for things to "settle" in case HSBC or Nationwide aren't quite ready for the new setup yet?

I suspect the ISA transfer will be fine, it will probably take much more than a week for the new owners to start making any significant changes. "Virgin Money" is already a collection of many other entities each with their own computer systems no doubt, previously Clydesdale Bank / B, Yorkshire Bank, Northern Rock, the original pre 2012 Virgin …

If you are trying to make use of the HSBC cashback offer, and/or secure their current rate, I wouldn't hang about as those offers could vanish quickly.

Anyone else having problems logging into their Virgin Money account today? The app seems to have updated and is asking for my 10digit customer number and password, then completely rejecting them? Getting an error message on the website too.
This is for login with an '82' sort code…Have now been locked out - 'Try again later'

I have just logged in fine via the app (82 account). Browser login is also working ok. I reckon you need Customer Services.

I put some money into a new Virgin cash ISA yesterday and it was a somewhat muddled message. Everything was very firmly branded "Virgin" until the very last bit where there was lots of small print referencing Nationwide. I know about the takeover so it was fine but I imagine it would be a bit unsettling for someone who does not.

Are the systems moving over too?
Good rates - but VM have caused me a lot of stress managing cash isa transfers.
