If it's a livebox, you also have to press the pairing button (button 1) when connecting for the first time, as expresso said, if the router is set to wep, you can't use wpa on the laptop, they have to match to work.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

You need to login to the router, and check the settings match the laptop, do this on the working pc.

click on Configuration, Advanced and Wireless
click to select the WPA security only option, note the password or put a new one in, then click on Submit
click on Apply the configuration now
Press button 1 on your Livebox (to make sure that the Livebox is in 'pairing' mode)
and then try to connect to your Livebox again using the laptop and wpa with the new password (if you changed it).
