Plum - App Issues

Tried to open a Plum Cash ISA, on the app. Took me through the account setup, and eventually got to the ID & Address verification screen. Both boxes were marked as Verified (I had not sent photos of any documents at this point), and I could not continue. My only option was to press the X at the top of the screen, which left the process.

My wife opened a Cash ISA with them at the same time, with no problems. She was not taken to ID & Address verification screen.

Anyone else had these issues?

    Did the same this morning.

    No ID requests at all.

20k added, No to hard at all.

Must have been the verification that let you down.

    Cheers!

I didn't get the chance to do any verification! Entered my details, NI number, got sent to the page to read Ts&Cs etc...Continued...got sent to the Verification page…couldn't get any further! The only clickable thing was the X!

    Thanks anyway!

  • I had the same issue this morning. Have you had the problem rectified by Plum yet?

exactly the same issue - I contacted the help and they asked me to send my ID & a pdf of bill with address etc. through the help chat ? not the best start to this company who are app only and no phone number to speak to a human ? first thing I had to do was link my bank account as well - which you would think would be after you have got the isa in place ? I also have an isa transfer to process once I do get open concerned that because they seem according to the app to put money into your 'Primary Pocket' then you have to move ot ISA does this not count as a breach of isa rules if it does not transfer direct into the CASH ISA as would look like you have paid in baalnce from your other ISA plus the new years contribution ? just concerned if it does not directly transfer from existing ISA to the CASH ISA you open on the app if it would breach the ISA Wrapper protection ?

You should not move the money yourself. There is a separate process for ISA transfers.

Linking your bank account supports proof of identity.

I tried to open an ISA with Plum yesterday. Everything went fine and account opended. Moved £5k in (via plumb) and it's now showing cancelled. Never had a ball ache with an ISA provider before and plum customer service is basically a BOT via email. Wish I did not bother.

How is she making the deposit? Open Banking? Another option is to "push" the money into Plum's primary pocket from her online banking and transfer over from there. There is also a Direct Debit option, albeit that's slower.

I have the same issue as many others. I downloaded the app, filled in details requested and tried to open an ISA. Once I got to the verify identity page, I hit a wall as it was completely unresponsive and the only option is to jettison the application. I’ve tried deleting and reloading the app but it makes no difference. I have also asked for help on their messaging service but no one has got back to me. Having read the experiences of others, I’m now feeling that maybe that extra bit of interest that they offer may not be worth the hassle. So far, a complete waste of time.

I saw their [Plum]Cash ISA offering and mis read it, turns out that despite the fact that transfer-in int rates are currently 4.2%, the bonus interest part of the 4.2% which is 1.66% is only paid after 12 months! I was looking to transfer from MoneyBox to Plum, luckily before Plum sent the formal transfer out request to MoneyBox, I messaged MoneyBox to reject the request. So staying with MoneyBox for now.
