Last minute ISA deposit
Asking for a friend I'm helping out.
Are there any providers that are quick and easy to deposit into this late stage? Doesn't matter if it's cash or stocks and shares. They've finally understood the concept of use it or lose it and so now want to deposit anywhere!
Most we've tried had a cut off earlier than today but if anyone has experience of being able to deposit today we would be grateful.
The friend doesn't have their passport with them so it needs to be somewhere that has less onerous ID checks.

I received this email from invest engine. They are offering a top up bonus for new customers too. ID might be a bit trickier though! If I recall correctly it was an outsourced process.
A quick note on tax year end deadlines
The tax year ends at 11:59 pm on Sunday 5 April. Because of the Easter bank holiday, it may take a little longer than usual for payments to appear in your account.
If your payment is made by the deadlines below, there's nothing to worry about. It will count towards your 2025/26 allowance, even if it takes a little longer to show.
The same applies to movements between portfolios (e.g. GIA to ISA) made close to the deadline.
Payment deadlines by method
- Instant Transfer / Open Banking: by 11:59pm on Sunday 5 April. For the smoothest experience, aim for before 6:30pm on Thursday 2 April.
- Manual bank transfer: by 11:59pm on Saturday 4 April, to allow for bank holiday processing delays.
- Savings Plan (powered by Direct Debits only): must be processed by us by 6:30pm on Thursday 2 April. Due to the bank holiday, we won't run another Savings Plan collection until the new tax year. If you want to top up after this point, use Instant Transfer instead. See our guide on our different payment methods →
If your payment is time-sensitive, Instant Transfer / Open Banking is the safest option.

Hargreaves Lansdown has always had a pretty slick opening process, and should accept debit card funding for an immediate use of the allowance.
Likewise AJ Bell have implied in their annual reminder email that they'll be processing payments for 2025/26 until 11:59pm (again debit card is the best option as it will be treated as being made when the transaction is authorised).
Both are likely to be satisfied with electronic ID checks unless your friend cannot be verified that way.
