Moving Washing Machine Into Cellar
Hi,
trying to find out if it is possible to move a washing machine into the cellar.
Water and power supply are available the issue will be the waste water. I know you can get macerators and pumps for toilet systems but is there anything on the market that is designed for just waste water?

What kind of floor, and how much of a disaster would it be if some water leaks out?

we had a similar situation and had the machine pump into a plastic dustbin and a pump like this kept it empty. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Clarke-PSP105-Puddle-Pump-Sensor/dp/B015HZZ9EY?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A3V6M7K53NC0P

Very common in parts of the UK and extremely common on the continent where most houses have cellars.
Why would you take up living space with domestic appliances when you can keep them out of the way.

Well it's another flight of stairs to lug the basked of washing down.
I quite like the idea of a washing machine on the same floor as the bedrooms which is where most wasing is generated. Don't have the room in our house to do this. Would still end up lugging it downstairs though to hang outside.

Washing is heavier when it's wet so more importantly lugging the full basket back up the stairs from a cellar. Unless you have a tumble drier.

Tumble drier is already in the cellar so no issue there!
The house is over four floors so stairs are something I've got used to over the years.

Have you checked the manual to see how far up it's capable of pumping? Maybe it will reach a drain without assistance.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
