Just to make everyone aware of the risks of purchasing anything from these scammers.…

So I bought a refurbished phone from this company via amazon in October last year for £200. I didn't open it for a month as I was going away on holiday and had all the stuff I needed saved on my old phone.

When i switched it on it was obviously faulty, kept going into restart loop till the battery died. I asked for a refund but was refused, outsude 28 days. However, with a years warrenty the said they would repair it.

Sent it back, they claimed to have repaired it. Same fault exists. They are stiff refusing to refund or exchange. Returned it a 2nd time immediately.

This time they claimed "no fault found" and sent it back to me. The fault was obviously still there, phone unusable. I contacted them again and this time they said they would refund me.

Via amazon they refunded me £80. Their explanation was the "refund fee was due to the condition of the phone I had returned". When I strongly protested I got nowhere and was told to go away. The phone was faulty when they sent it me and they had the intention of fleecing me of £120 all along.

Amazon washed their hands of me claiming that my purchase through them is irrelevent.

Needless to say amazon have lost my custom for life, dreadful company, but more concerning is ur.co.uk, whose reputation online as a scam is growing daily. I appreciate i'll not get my money back, so I am just warning everyone about them. Ur.co.uk were once recommended by Martin Lewis, a rare mis-step on his part for sure.

Pretty sure my consumer rights were breached.

So can we take it that this was a marketplace purchase, which is just like purchasing of Ebay.

    Active boycotting

We appreciate emotions can run high should you experience poor service from companies, but we cannot accept active calls for mass boycotts of organisations as we are unable to verify the service you received.

Perhaps you might want to contact them & ask them to edit your title. Given forum rules.

    As above ^^^^

Plus the OP effectively lost some significant consumer rights when (and I quote)….

    "I didn't open it for a month"

Had they been more responsible and checked the item sooner they would have had an automatic right to a full refund.

Obviously that doesn't excuse a faulty product but why make it hard for yourself?

MoneySavingExpert.com founder Martin Lewis's face has been plastered over the internet for many years now by unscrupulous fraudsters looking to scam people out of money. These ads – be they for cryptocurrency, investments, Quantum AI – are scams and not genuine. They're dangerous and you should be on your guard. Martin NEVER endorses products and nor does MSE, so don't be fooled.

    […]

To be clear, when we say Martin and MSE never endorse products, we mean we don't put our name to ANYTHING. Yes, we mention products/services, but we don't 'support' them.
