Air Cairo Cancellation Charges
Hello, my daughter had a flight booked from Sharm El Sheikh to Rome on 9th April 2026 with Air Cairo so she could spend a few days in Rome before returning to the UK on 12th April 2026. She has just received an email from Air Cairo changing her flight from 9th April to 12th April 2026 which is obviously no good to her. She is trying to cancel the flight as there are plenty of other flights available to book on 9th April but Air Cairo is trying to charge her 100 USD for cancelling her flight. Surely they can't do this when this is their fault? Any advice would be appreciated.

It'll depend on the Ts & Cs of the booking and any applicable aviation regulations or national consumer protection legislation - is there any UK agent involved in this booking or was it all handled directly with the airline?

She booked directly with the airline

In which case she'll need to research the terms of the booking, and potentially any applicable provisions within Egyptian aviation regulation or consumer protection legislation, to ascertain if there's any valid basis on which to challenge the airline's stance.
