Difficulty in opening Tandem Cash ISA

Hi

Just tried to open a Tandem Instant Access Cash ISA in their app. Won't accept my NI number. Says I need to contact them. I know it's right. Anyone else having this problem? Is it because of tax year end?

As you can't delete the post it would be helpful if you said what you did to resolve it and what the issue was, just in case someone else has the same problem?

I tried a few hours later. When I entered my NI No it added a space at the end which I noticed so I deleted the space. It went through. So whether it was a case of their banking not working properly when I tried the first time or the addition of the space I don't honestly know.

Yes mobile phones do add a space when you use cut/copy&paste. "Growingold[space]" has one more character than "Growingold". You have to be aware of this and dutifully remove the trailing space so the number of characters matches the NI pattern (9 characters: 2 letters, 6 digits, 1 letter).

That's a feature of your phone not a fault with the banking app.

Yes I'll be aware of that in future but I didn't cut/copy or paste. I typed my number in. Also I did say I didn't know if they had a problem with the banking app or if it was the addition of the space that was the problem. Anyway problem sorted and something to be aware of in future with phones.
