Check wheel nuts after 30 miles?
Comments
-
most newish cars don’t have spare wheels now, just the fluid you inject in with a small compressor, so no need for a wheel brace or jack.
A thankyou is payment enough .3 -
I would not worry too much. It's really not very likely there will be an issue. Many people will insist that you check but I'd wager 99% of people never do. I never have

99% of people are idiots. For me, 120Nm, 17mm socket, job done

I would say naive rather than idiots.
My car also has those same settings - it takes only a few minutes to check.

Personally I have bigger nuts.

They will need a higher torque setting to make sure they don't fall off at high speed.

I'll just carry on doing them by hand with the short wheel brace that comes with the car as I have done since the 70s . Not too long so you don't over tighten them . I mean who uses a torque wrench?

It doesn't need to be a garage, though any garage should be happy to quickly confirm.
Any neighbour, friend or family member with a wheel brace should be able to check they haven't come loose.
Basically the concern is that if the nut isn't fitted tightly enough at the time, it'll work loose over those few miles.1 -
it's mainly !!!!!! covering by the garage that fitted them. "if your wheel falls off then if's not our fault because we told you to check them"
2 -
Got to agree, next it'll be a checklist of other removable bits that they may (or not) have undone during a service.
"Not out fault if the engine seizes because we told you to check that we actually put some oil in".
