Rent Increases Best Time To Report Changes
Hi, I just wanted to pick your brains on the best time to report rent increases on Universal Credit. Would you say to wait until the day of the increase or report the increase ahead of time or at the end of the assessment period?
Or does it just sit in the queue until they look at it. Or wait until above dates pic added
Cheers

To do's usually have a timescale to be done in. So do it before ir runs out.

That's another thing that banner states April but my increase date states May which is also different so I'm unsure if a new banner will update for May and nothing in to do list regarding updating?

I would report it then at a journal note stating when it increases.
I would never take it that they would do it again.👍

Yes that's a good idea I'll send it to payments to cover it and confirm the amounts. 👍

You can't report any changes to UC in advance of them happening.

Can't remember but last year the To Do appeared on my list on the appropriate day in April.

As @KxMx says, you cannot report any changes before they have taken effect.
That banner is to prevent people reporting changes early. Local Authorities will start sending out letters in Jan/Feb informing renters of rent increases in April, and UC would receive a flood of CoC's trying to report something that hasn't happened yet.
If it's LA/Social housing, UC will be notified of the change by the council or housing association and will raise a ToDo for you to verify (agree with) the new rental figures the council or housing association have given them. So wait for the ToDo, and then complete it promptly.
