Fixed it. The solution seems to be clear all data in teams, log out of intune company portal and re log into teams.
This took me a very long time.

I always had a rule of no work stuff on my personal tech
If using teams is a requirement of your work then they provide the tech and therefore support

To be fair they do provide a technology allowance so it's not a bad deal - support is not ideal in this case.
Hopefully anyone who googles this will find this and be able to fix it.
