Haggling with EE with multiple networks in the area
Has anyone had any luck when haggling with EE? Where I live, there are three fibre network providers: OpenReach, CityFibre, and County Broadband. After a lot of faff, Openreach finally managed to thread the fibre to my house. Now I'm more than happy with EE, but has anyone managed to haggle with EE when in the CityFibre area also?
Many thanks

if Openreach on behalf of EE have provided the fibre to your house , presumably you have already ordered service with them , because before an individual order is received, they don’t do the final drop into the customers address , their fibres are in the footpath or pole top waiting to be connected to the address and used , they are not taken right into the property until an order for service is raised , so in effect you accepted whatever price and terms at the time of ordering service , you can’t renegotiate now , unless your plan is to threaten to cancel completely , but to do that you would need to be in the cooling off period, which starts when the order is taken , not when the fibre is fitted .
If this a renewal, so your initial agreement (minimum term) has expired , then you may be in a good position if other operators are available.

No, I meant when my contract is up, sorry.

Always good to have other operator's offers to hand when it comes to renewal haggling.
Forgive me if you know this, if you go with service via another infrastructure supplier then you'll need another fibre supply with another ONT box etc.

Yes, I knew that. That was not the issue. The biggest issue (for Openreach anyway) was threading the fibre through the duct. It took Openreach two years to figure out the problem. CityFibre are installing to my neighbour's property, and I had the same problem, but now they know where the problem is, it shouldn't be as hard to switch if I need to.

When I haggled with EE a year ago is was not a good experience.
They gave me the price I wanted, but only for the first month! Thankfully I spotted it within the cooling off period.
Things didn't end there. I think there must have been 3 attempts to get a new contract in place! Hours on the phone. (not an exaggeration)
Now, I would recommend you put in a move request (e.g Vodafone) and see if they offer you a better deal

I haggled with EE for a part fibre deal, full fibre isn't available in my area, and got them from £35.99 down to £23.99. Even 2027 price is still lower than what I was previously paying.

I can't speak to EE but let's face it, they are part of BT, along with Plusnet and the MO seems to be only to make an offer when you have placed an order with a competitor.
This is what you get when you allow markets to have a monopoly where supplier seem to agree not to compete.
