Ive just re-read the 2 "no" emails, which I should have done in the first place !!! It actually says, although these cases are closed, depending on the FCA outcome, they may be looked at again and not to do anything. So as they are logged, I'll just wait and see.

I think all we can do is sit and wait really :) think its better to log a complain at the very least.

Hi
I would be grateful for some advice.
My husband purchased a vehicle through RCI Financial Services Limited in 2013 and submitted a claim using your initial online tool. RCI Financial Services is no longer in existence.
Unfortunately, my husband passed away in May 2024. As his beneficiary, am I able to continue the claim on his behalf? I have all of the original paperwork relating to the finance agreement.
Thank you

RCI Financial Services still exists, or at least a company with that name still does which used to be called Nissan Finance which would sound the right name. It appears they market under a different name now but as per the footer of their new website it's still the old company behind it.
Generally the executor of his estate would be able to make the claim on his estate's behalf.

I nudged Stellantis who replied they had closed the case! As much as I should resubmit! I dont think so! I have contacted customer care with this ……..
Good Morning,
I am contacting you regarding my complaint about the commission arrangement on my finance agreement (xxxxxxx), previously logged under case number xxxxxxxx.
I have received a notification stating that the case is now closed. However, the FCA’s update on 30 March 2026 has confirmed the final Motor Finance Redress Scheme, which supersedes all previous pauses and proposals. As my complaint was raised in 2024 and relates to a commission model associated with my agreement, it falls within the scope of the FCA’s mandatory redress scheme.
On this basis, the case cannot be treated as closed. Please reopen my complaint and confirm:
- Which of the FCA’s two schemes my agreement falls under.
- Whether your assessment of the commission model has now been completed.
- When I can expect my final response under the FCA’s updated deadlines.
Kind regards,

Why did they close it? Did they say you didn't have DCA for example?
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Hi – I am being targeted by mail, text messages, phone calls, and emails regarding a potentially mis-sold PCP agreement. Am I better off waiting until my car finance company gets back to me, as they have already logged my claim, or should I go with a PPI company or similar? Any advice would be appreciated.

No they said a commission model was used on my agreement back in 2024…. apparently its a bit of a ruse to tie you up in more admin or get you to give up! They never emailed me back in 2024 to say it had been closed so more armour for Financial Ombudsman if they want to play that game! I have been allocated a new case number so they have to reinstate my complaint now!

Do you want to give away a significant percentage of any commission you may be due? If yes then reply to them, if no then dont.

Today I went to sign up to Equifax to get info on older car finance agreements. Went through the process and then it requested that it needed additional verification. I thought what is the problem as they do not run these checks when a company check on your credit rating etc?
Anyway decided to proceed and was directed to a site with a very strange foreign sounding name. It asked me to upload a recent photo of myself etc. How will a photo of myself change my credit rating especially as Equifax have been keeping tabs on me and our address for decades?
I thought all this was a bit intrusive and a step too far especially as it is the credit reference company that can change your life for better or worse. At that point I decided not to progress any further!
