Well, "skimming stone" is a very light shade, really almost white, just an off-white. On the colour card it is only only shade more intense than "strong white" which is as white as you can get while still having that same colour undertone.
If the item has been painted in that F&B paint, then you have got what you paid for. Will she be agreeable to re-paint (at extra cost) to a darker shade?
Did you purchase the full-size sample card before selecting the colour?
