I had never imagined that my age and where I live have anything to do with the subjects being discussed, obviously if I felt that was the case I would have either refrained from commenting or would have made those things clear at the outset.

But you introduced both into the conversation when clarifying how they each influence your approach to investing, and when it was pointed out that it may have been helpful to be upfront about age and location, your justification was that you'd mentioned them in other threads, which was really the aspect I was challenging:

The fact [of being 76] has been mentioned on numerous occiaisons in many threads that I've either started or particpitaed in, one hates to keep repeating the point.

Once again I'm sorry if individuals have not understood where I live, it also has been mentioned repeatedly, along with my age, in the course of past discussions about global investments, over several years.

Anyway, it was only meant as a passing observation and I don't have any desire to take the thread further off-topic!

I had ftse global index funds and S&P500 planned long term but did not plan the war and currently on redundancy trying to get a new role plus some HMRC bill to pay.

There is some uncertainty currently and the companies are laying off staffs.
