IWeb/Scottish Widows cash withdrawals to bank - how long?

Well last time I tried, I had to split a £16k transaction, but YMMV.

It very much depends on the bank and your standing with the bank. I have been able to make £50K debit card payments with Santander.

In case others are interested it's £50k to "other accounts" from First Direct for online (and probably telephone banking) payments
Not sure about using a debit card to make payment, but suspect it may be £10k per day

With First Direct I can spend more than £10k per day on my debit card, but not much more than that in a single transaction. I haven't tried accumulating anything close to £50k.

Well for me the answer is the debit card option worked just fine as just added the £20K in one transaction.
I probably should look at the PayIT option but for some reason I'm probably a bit too old school about linking stuff like that to my bank account(s).

If you mean Pay by Bank, you do not have to link accounts. Online, you select Pay by Bank, specify your bank, your bank's website pops up, you login and click the authorise button. It is much the same with a phone app.

So you enter your authorisation details into a website that you did not open yourself? How do you know for certain it's your bank's website? Just my paranoia spotting a possible route for scammers.

You can check the URL and TLS certificate, but such a payment journey should only be started from a trusted website as a further precaution.

You might ask the same question about the popup that appears when you make a debit card payment. How do you know that it is legitimate? Make sure that you are logged into the right website and not a clone.

IIRC the only input you make to the popup is a) select mode of receiving OTP, and b) the OTP, so no chance of revealing personal or security data. Small possibility of man in the middle attack. Whereas Pay by Bank is normalising logging in to a window you didn't open yourself.
