Fix a dripping cold water tap. (Garage).

You don’t need to actually see it. Insert a screwdriver into the hole (Slotted probably but could be Philips) and turn gently until you feel the screwdriver drop into the slot and engage with the screw head.

OP, definitely worth giving it a go yourself. Very satisfying feeling when you put a tap back together for the first time and the leak has been fixed. Similar to doing a mixer tap without having to turn the water off at all, and replacing gubbings of your toilet cistern whilst just using a big old screw driver to keep the water out.

you don’t need to remove the X head off the tap, just unscrew the chrome cover( anti clockwise) and there should be enough of a gap to fit a spanner in there to remove the tap head.
If it’s old it could have a leather washer, and if it’s been dripping for a good while, then chances are the tap seating with have a groove in it and will need re grinding down.
imo just replace the tap with a hose union. Easier optionA thankyou is payment enough .1
