Sky social tariff – can my nephew switch after signing 24-month contract?
My nephew is due to have Sky installed this Saturday. He’s on a 24-month contract at around £40/month (not sure of the exact package).
He receives Universal Credit.
Would he be eligible for Sky’s social tariff? If so, can he switch now, or is he tied in and would have to wait until the contract ends?
If it is possible, who should he contact to get this sorted?

If he is not yet a customer then this line is important.

Alternatively if it hasn't already been installed can he cancel the current install and re-order on a social tariff?

If he's going to be paying around £40 then that sounds like he's taken the TV/BB package at £39 per month. The dearest BB (for me) is showing as £35 per month for 900Mbps. The TV part is not included in the social tariff, it would be BB only at £20 for 24 months with (apparently) no April rises. It would give him access to the Sky mobile free 1GB data plan (free calls & texts) for just 12 months (no extension beyond that allowed).
Note that the cheapest Sky TV Stream package is the Essentials deal at £15 a month (24 month contract with April rises) but it really is minimal, the next tier up is the Ultimate Streaming package at £22 per month, same T&Cs.
Depending on his needs and capabilities, the £40 (£39?) a month deal he's signed up for may suit better.

Doesn't mention that it includes TV - Just fibre and phone !
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
That's because it doesn't.
