Royal Mail or Post Nord responsible

Yes, postage purchased online, but I couldnt get the parcel postbox to scan the QR code. So I didnt get the receipt from the post office counter either, as it was marked as closed for lunch.
I do now have the Post Nord Swedish tracking number ( even if it wasnt posted as tracked in UK) It does prove that it got to Sweden even if I have no UK receipt.
Tomorrow I will try RM to get compensation and cost refunded

A claim for the postage cost possibly, but for the lost item these are RM's terms;
"For compensation of your item, you must also provide:
Original proof of posting e.g:
+ Post Office® receipt (certificate of posting)
+ On-Line postage receipt (stamped at Post Office®) or
+ Royal Mail Parcel Shop receipt (certificate of posting)
Original proof of value if claiming for the contents, eg.till receipt, bank statement, etc"
Unfortunately leaving it with a shop assistant who said they'd do it later isn't listed....
