Royal Mail or Post Nord responsible
I'm not sure if this is the right board but,
I sent a parcel (gift) to Sweden via Royal Mail. It was a 48 hr, but not tracked, and paid for online. The recipient had a message from Post Nord (Swedens Royal Mail equivalent) to say it was delivered, through the letter box.
However, it would not have fitted through their letter box, which is in a secure block of flats and VERY unlikely to be stolen etc.
Post Nord said it was probably lost, when they were contacted.
Who is responsible? I have no proof of posting from Royal Mail due to a 'lunchbreak' in my local parcelshop

A 'lunchbreak' meaning what exactly? Do you mean you left the parcel at the shop while it was closed for lunch? What is the value of the item posted?

From your point of view Royal Mail is responsible.
But what do you mean by "I have no proof of posting from Royal Mail due to a 'lunchbreak' in my local parcelshop"?
Why didn't you insist on proof of posting?
From the addressee's point of view and depending on the relevant law in Sweden, Post Nord might be responsible. But that would be for the addressee* to address.
*There was no "recipient"

I left the parcel, with the post office worker who was covering the convenience store at lunch. He said he would process it when he was able.
value was £20

Post Nord says I need to ask Royal Mail. Even though they sent a text to recipient saying it was put through letterbox.
Parcel posting cost was £11.25

They are correct - you paid Royal Mail to carry out the delivery. You need to claim from RM.

Are you saying this "post office worker" managed to accept a payment of £11.25 but couldn't manage to give you a receipt or proof of postage?

Royal Mail, and the PoP isn't relevant given the tracking shows it moved and is lost. This is nothing to do with PostNord for you as shipper

Having a certificate of posting is... at the very least...helpful when making a claim.

Postage could have been purchased online....however unless the post office part was marked closed the assistant should have provided some sort of receipt.

Helpful yes, but doesn't stop a claim being made.
