Morning everyone
I can't remember if I said mam was moved to an NHS bed at a different care home to dad on Friday morning. She is even more confused and seems to think shes in a hotel. Dad is just sad and hasn't much to say.
DD is going to bring mam down to visit dad in his care home this morning, I don't know if it will make things better or worse but they both need to see the other is still alive, dad thinks I'm not telling him that mam has died.
It's been almost 3 weeks now since they saw each other.
Just waiting for this Best Interests Meeting, don't understand why we need it as mam made her feelings clear to the two social workers last week.
Thank you all so much for all your good wishes x

Morning all, thanks Scarlet. Its dull today, hoping it might improve. Good to hear you got your money back Remmie.
We tidied up the back, DH cleaned the patio which looks much better now, just the gravel path to do today. DGS had a good win yesterday but came off the pitch with a big blister underneath each big toe, I'd noticed him limping but thought he'd got a knock to his ankle.
DS2 rang last night, his electrics keep shorting out downstairs , he thinks it's one of the plug sockets so pulled everything out of them.DH will give his old electrician a ring for advice later.
Right I'd better get my dogwalking boots on. Roast chicken for later, followed by apple crumble.
SSue, sorry your hip is bad, hope it improves soon.
RRuby, a lemon tree sounds nice, I'd never have thought of planting the pips- might give that a try!
Gers, the new cafe sounds good.
Sounds like a fair bit of garden tidying going on,TA and SO, and us.
Have a good day all 😊

Afternoon all, thanks for today's thread start @Scarlet. It's a cloudy day here with just a slight chance of rain in the early afternoon, a gentle breeze and mild during the day. Still a bit chilly early mornings and evenings though.
The patio tidy/clean is now finished (hooray) or at least as finished as it's going to be! 😁 Water bill query sorted too; apparently the payments over 9 months is a technical glitch affecting a lot of customers but the agent said she could change it back to 10 months (once the error is sorted) if that's what I wanted. It's only a £4-odd difference each month so I told her to leave it - I rather like the idea of 3 "free" months at the beginning of a new year. My parcel is still somewhere in transit and will probably arrive on Monday.
There's nothing urgent needing to be done today so I'm having a day of please myself. Dinner will be braised pork steaks, potatoes and sprouts along with the last two pickled walnuts (it's an acquired taste! 😁 ). For afters there's lemon posset that I made yesterday to use up some single cream; I like this with an M&S almond biscuit but, since I don't have any, a humble digestive will have to do.
I've just been watching two young ladies litter picking around our maisonette blocks; I'm not sure who they are and I don't think they're part of an organised group but their efforts are most welcome. I find it unfathomable why people think it's OK to throw crisp packets, drinks cans etc on the ground rather than find a bin to put it in or take it home with them. I have been known to reprimand the culprits when I see it happening!
@Chrisca - I've seen quite a few of the Carol Jordan/Tony Hill TV programmes rather than reading any of the books. My reading materials generally come from the Little Free Library so depend very much on what others have donated but it does have the advantage of giving me an eclectic stash! 😃 I shall keep a look out for any.
@dp1 - Your mam and dad will be so happy to see each other today and I hope the visit puts their minds at ease. Hugs X
Have a good day all and take care. X

YL, it's unbelievable that people throw their litter on the ground. I remember a few years ago we were about to walk past a parked car when the passenger window opened and the remains of their chippy dinner came out, paper and all. I didn't think twice, picked the rubbish up and put it back through the window which was still open, saying "I think you dropped this". I don't think I'd have the courage to do it nowadays though. And it wasn't youngsters, the couple were middle aged.

Thanks everyone
Mam and dad were so pleased to see each other, it was lovely to see., though dad thought it meant he could go back home. I just have to keep saying that mam can't look after him now, but I'm trying really hard to get her living in the same place as him.
Hopefully we'll get this Best Interests Meeting this week. DD took mam back up to her care home and I told her I'll go round this afternoon. I stayed with dad for a little while till it was time for my bus up home, he was having his lunch when I left.
Just eating mine, then I'll go back out x
