Does anybody have experience of a TUI package holiday using another carrier ?

We can only get a TUI flight for our favourite hotel in Spain from Glasgow - however they also offer it from Edinburgh using Ryanair and/or EasyJet.

EDI is much more convenient for us - just wondering , if there is a problem with the return flight who is responsible for sorting it out ?

TUI or the other party ?

I'm comfortable (ish) with TUI as carrier - but not so onside with the other two.

I returned from a TUI cruise from Corfu and because we added a couple of extra days on there was no scheduled TUI flight available. We were put on a Norwegian flight, it was fine. Since the booking is made through TUI, you first point of contact would be TUI. I personally wouldn't ever fly Ryanair, but easyJet is OK, flown with them many times.

    Ive been on many.

Malta we flew out with TUI and back with Easyjet. Absolutely fine. (EDIT - this may have been Thomas Cook actually!)

Central Europe we flew out with TUI and back with Austrian. Again, absolutely fine.

I have one booked for Easyjet both ways.

What are your concerns? What "problem with the return flight" are you envisaging?

We had a nightmare experience with EasyJet summer 2024 - flight cancelled, dumped and abandoned in Amsterdam airport.

If the onus is on TUI to sort things out that puts a different perspective on things.

As a package it will be down to TUI to provide assistance if there is a problem with any flight.

In addition, as this is a package holiday it would also be ATOL protected as TUI is a member. More details on ATOL can be found here https://www.atol.org/.

    You may know this already.

have you checked if EasyJet Holidays offer the hotel you want? Have used them a couple of times and they have been fine…when the transfer for the return was delayed in traffic they sent a taxi to collect us instead

Or Jet2, who seem to be taking over the traditional UK package market.

Always find their pricing much more than anywhere else, and flight times never as good to most destinations.

The hotel chain has a long standing relationship with TUI who are the only operator to offer package holidays.

I can book the hotel and flights DIY, however when you add the cost of taxi it's a better deal to go with TUI - cost wise and convenience of transfers…..the hotel is 60km from the airport.

I spoke with our local travel agent who advises that Ryanair will not allow them to action the administrative details of a package with TUI - the customer has to do all such aspects online direct with Ryanair………..no thanks.

I have actually changed holiday plans because they use Ryanair as carrier to the place I want to go. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. I wouldn't be as concerned about flying with Easyjet. Just one of the concerns about flying Ryanair is if their baggage allowance differs from the standard TUI allowance,
