Cash ISA transfer from Chip to Moneybox
My nephew asked for my help in setting up his first S&S ISA so that he could invest half his cash ISA savings in an S&S ISA. He is currently with Chip who don’t allow partial transfers so I suggested that he transfer all of his Chip cash ISA to a Moneybox cash ISA that has a better rate anyway and then do another transfer for half the funds to a new S&S ISA (we haven’t decided on the platform for that yet but possibly Freetrade or Invest Engine).
His transfer from Chip has hit the rails twice now (the first time was his own fault as he left some residual funds in Chip and I’d already told him that this wouldn’t work as Chip don’t allow partial transfers). This time however the message he has got back is as per the photo. Is a Chip cash ISA administered by Seccl? How would the end customer know that? He’s used the account number and 6 digit sort code (for Clearbank) that shows in the app. I’ve no idea where he can get a Seccl reference from.

Yes, that message suggests Seccl Custody Limited (Seccl) is still administering Chip ISAs. See earlier post:
Do you have a Chip account reference in the A0 or 00 format they mention?
