I initially responded on 16 March via post.

That's why we tell people not to. Posting it caused this bar on online activity!

He will have to email a downloaded copy with his electronic signature. DON'T SEND PHOTOS OF PHYSICAL PAGES.

He submitted the Acknowledgement of Service on 23rd March and received an email (automated response) confirming receipt.

Unable to complete the Defence statement as still showing as 'A bar has been put in place on this claim. You cannot respond to this claim at this time.

Another poster has just caused their daughter a CCJ by doing that.

Yes, the Defendant can. And must.

Surely you have now sorted this error by getting the Defendant (not you) to sign the defence UNDER A STATEMENT OF TRUTH and email it straight to the claim responses email?

If not, get the Defendant to do that immediately and make sure a receipt arrives.

You can't sit & wait to cause them a CCJ (sorry, but the posted defence did cause that bar). And if that defence was signed by the wrong person, soon it will be rejected … without notice to you/them. Then the C can request a CCJ.

They must be proactive to get their signed & dated defence in by email. There will be no reminder. Get a proper defence in and it beats the CCJ.

Yes, the Defendant has done that.

Is there a Defence template available?

I'm struggling to find my way around. He now has 24 hours to get the defence in so needs to be quick.

Yes it is in the Template Defence thread, but if emailing a defence it must be as an attached PDF (not a word doc) and must include the Claim Number & 'DEFENCE' at the top, plus at the bottom, a statement of truth and defendant's electronic or photo signature and today's date.
